Jutta Birmele, since 1990 Professor of German Studies (tenured), Department of Romance, German, Russian Languages and Literatures at CSULB Chair of Department (approx. 2400 Students and 64 full and part–time faculty) 2004–2007.
1999–2004 CSULB Representative to the system–wide Academic Council on International Programs. Director, Center for European Studies.
Spring 2004 teaching in the London Semester for CSULB.
1994–5 Resident Director of International Programs of CSU System in Baden Württemberg, guest lecturer at the University of Tübingen.
1992 guest lecturer at Goethe Institute Berlin.
Guest Lecturer in Qingdao, PRC 1998 and 2000.
Co–director and organizer for four international conferences on German & European Affairs between 1986 and 2000.
Organizer of 19th Century Studies conference at CSULB. Organizer of numerous exhibitions on campus.
